About
About the Retreat
The first Midwest Women Chemists Retreat was held in 2017. The Midwest Women Chemists Retreat (MWCR) is modeled after the Puget Sound Women Chemist’s Retreat (PSWCR) that was founded by Prof. Robbyn K. Anand while a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle. The MWCR is made possible by our sponsors (see Funding, below) who have partnered with us in support of our mission to advance women in the chemical enterprise.
The PSWCR was initiated by the support of the American Chemical Society Puget Sound Local Section and an ACS Innovative Project Grant. It has been held in Washington, British Columbia, and Oregon, and in 2016, the event expanded to include women from all areas of the natural sciences.
Eligibility
Graduate student and early career chemists from the Midwest region in the United States are welcome to apply. Space for the Retreat is limited. If you do not meet these eligibility requirements but would like to attend the Retreat, please contact us.
