As a mentor teacher, I have supported a second-year kindergarten teacher since her first year through observations, positive feedback, and providing resources and tools to guide her growth. Mentoring allows me to offer both formal and informal coaching and development opportunities, helping other educators build confidence, refine their practice, and feel supported in their journey.
FCCA Summer School Academic Coordinator 2026
Serving as the academic coordinator for summer school has allowed me to grow as a leader by supporting both students and staff in meaningful ways. In this role, I organize instruction, communicate expectations, and collaborate with teachers and interventionists to create a successful learning environment for all students. I also work closely with the ThriveOn afterschool program to coordinate our academic mornings with their afternoon programming to ensure students have a consistent and supportive experience throughout the day. The image on the right is a flyer I created for staff when summer school sign-up began to help communicate program information and expectations clearly.
