Facilitator
Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students. Educators:
6a
Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.
6b
Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.
6c
Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.
6d
Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge or connections.
Artifact 1: CYBR834 Information Technology Teaching Methods - Final Programming Project (Summer 2021)
The following project was created during my Summer 2021 coursework. I used a previously created curriculum from my EL Science Foundations course and worked to include elements of computational thinking, innovative designing, and construction of knowledge into the lessons.
The goal of the unit is for students to share questions in English on inner planets using Scratch to program a presentation. The students will need to show the use of conditionals, variables, and other features to ask four questions for their classmates to answer when they present their final program.
This project allows students to work through problems and test ideas. They also will have resources of support to review during their work.
I chose this unit because many students with even a basic understanding of English have a great amount of learning about the planets when they come to the class. This allows students to focus on how best to display their knowledge in their presentations and work through the program.

Artifact 2: TE 877 Developing Web-Based Educational Environments - Personal Web Page (Fall 2021)
The website was a semester-long project this past semester. When I focused again on another unit in my EL Science Foundations course it was with the goal of piloting the website as a resource for students later in the semester and if used in the future with the previous artifact, it would continue to build on the ISTE skills the students have developed.
The goal of the website is to empower its learners in providing additional resources and various uses of technology to review the concepts of gravity in space.
In the "Class Projects" sections you can view some of the work utilizing technology and ISTE standards such as "Knowledge Constructor" for students. Within the "Unit Resources" are lesson reviews of in-class work.
