Debby Lamb added the Feb. 26th Blood Drive and the 27th/28th Veterans Stand Down.
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY Jean Chapman thanked Cookie Akesson and Sheryn Howlett for including thanks to volunteers for the Ladies' Dinner in the Chit Chat article.
MEMBERSHIP Michele Scaglione announced new members: Natalie Gora, Nancy Peek, April Macy, and Catherine Gunther. Margaret Moore's membership number was drawn for the $5.00. Forty-seven members were in attendance. Michele was accepting the $20.00 dues for 2026-2027 which are due April 1st.
WAYS AND MEANS Tracee McRane and Dana Hollenbeck were still working on finalizing plans for our 49th Annual Fashion Show. Volunteers are needed, as always, for baskets and raffles, set up and tear down on Saturday March 7. Barbara Coppola won the $30.00 50/50 Raffle. Sixteen small bag drawings were given out.
HOSPITALITY Carol Gray thanked Lisa, Michele and Laura for the evening's treats. Victoria and Carole will treat in March.
PUBLICITY Sheryn Howlett had no report.
SUNSHINE Cheryl Isaac reported bithdays and said that Marsha Berman sent a thank you for gift following surgery for a hiatal hernia.
AUDITOR Linda Cimmarusti reported a “clean audit.”
PARLIAMENTARIAN Barbara Coppola presented a proposed sleight of officers and asked for nominations from the floor. Hearing none, the proposed sleight of officers was accepted by acclimation as the Executive Board for the year 2026-2027. The officers will be as follows:

Barbara also presented the following Bylaw change which will be voted on at the March meeting:
CURRENT
It shall be the duty of the Membership committee to publish and distribute the membership list along with the Bylaws and Standing Rules, in the form of the Elks' Ladies Membership Book, to all new and renewing members each year.
PROPOSED
It shall be the duty of the Membership committee to make available the membershlip list along with the Bylaws and Standing Rules, to all new and renewing members each year. The form of this will be by a link to an online booklet. Members may also request a printed copy if necessary.
The Committee shall send out dues notices to the members by March 15th.
OLD BUSINESS: LEADING KNIGHT Alan Harkness presented 10 Pig for Pigs coupons to the Ladies for money donated to the Purple Pig. In turn, the names of 10 Ladies were drawn to receive the coupons, each for a side of bacon at a Sunday breakfast.
NEW BUSINESS: President Laura reported that in order to save money, tablecloths will now be cleaned by Jean Chapman for a fee of $5.00 each. They will be professionally cleaned once a year. Plasticware will be purchased to be used at all but our most elegant events. This will lower the cost of what is now paid to the Lodge for our Lodge rentals.
Victoria reminded us all to pray and offered the closing prayer.

MEMBERSHIP Michele Scaglione was absent after taking a fall, so there was no drawing. Five dollars again in February. Twenty-nine members were in attendance.
WAYS AND MEANS Tracee McRane and Dana Hollenbeck told their plans for the Fashion Show which will be “70's” inspired with bright colors, etc. Tickets were disbursed for selling at $40 each. Tables of 8. Menu will be assorted salads and a dessert. Models and worker volunteers are needed, as always, for baskets and raffles, set up and tear down on Saturday morning March 7. Lori Cincotta won the $20.00 50/50 Raffle. Small bag drawings went to Dana Hollenbeck, Carol Caputo, Jean Chapman, Judy Longi, Barbara Jacobs and Sandy Jacobs. President Laura Lumley commended everyone for a great job on the Ladies Appreciation Dinner. Cookies Akesson, Barbara Coppola and Steve Cagnacci did a tremendous job in the planning and cooking of our traditional dinner.

PUBLICITY Sheryn Howlett reminded members that she will submit articles if someone lets her know what is desired.

OLD BUSINESS: LEADING KNIGHT Alan Harkness expressed appreciation and thanks to Michele and Laura for stepping in to keep the kitchen running smoothly on Bingo nights.
NEW BUSINESS: LK Alan announced his new plan for raising money for the Purple Pig Challenge. He calls it “PIG 4 PIGS” $20.00 donations in the months of November, December and January will earn the donor a coupon for a side of bacon during a Sunday breakfast. Name and phone number must be on the donation.
Laura announced that she and PER Rick Moscoso are working on redoing the Ladies Presidents Wall which will give more room for future presidents.

VICE PRESIDENT Cookie Akesson noted the following Calendar events: Nov. 15th Flag Folding, Nov. 16th Flag Retirement at Garden Grove, Nov. 26th Elks Thanksgiving Dinner and Bingo is dark, Nov. 27th Lodge and Lounge Closed for Thanksgiving, Nov. 28th Lounge open but kitchen and Karaoke are dark, Dec. 6th Snowflake Ball, and Dec. 8th Ladies Appreciation Dinner. Cookie also told of her plans for the Appreciation Dinner: A wonderful traditional ham dinner all made from scratch and Dave Roberts will be bringing his El Toro High School Choir who are always so good at putting us in the Christmas spirit with their singing and choreography. Seating will be assigned and payment must be made in advance. ($5 per member and $10 per guest).
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY Jean Chapman reported that the beautiful Fall quilt that she had made and donated to the Elks Ladies was purchased by an Elk Lady and her husband. The original intent was to raffle the quilt. Jean sought an okay from the Board before accepting the offer. The purchase will save the Ladies many hours of selling raffle tickets during this busy time of year. The proceeds from the sale will, as always, go to the Lodge with a recommended use for the money.
MEMBERSHIP Michele Scaglione reported our total membership is eighty-nine with no new members this month. Twenty-eight members were in attendance. Gail Patti won the $15.00 membership award. At January's meeting. it will be $5.00.
WAYS AND MEANS Tracee McRane and Jana Merk provided details regarding Snowflake Ball: Tickets will be $50.00 each with no tickets sold after December 1st, the menu will be Italian-inspired, and Elk Member Patrick Osgood's band “This Side Up” will be playing very danceable music, as well as Christmas music. Volunteers are needed for 10:00 set up on Dec.6th. Jerlene Dinnage won $14.00 in the 50/50 Drawing. There were eleven secret bag winners.
HOSPITALITY Carol Gray thanked Barbara Coppola and Jerlene Dinnage for the evening's treats. No one needs to bring treats in December since it is our AppreciationDinner. She will call those who are scheduled in January.
PUBLICITY Sheryn Howlett said that she will be doing her thing which is always good.
SUNSHINE Cheryl Isaac read the birthdays which included the only present members, Barbara Coppola and Jerlene Dinnage. A request was made for any greeting cards that membership members and/or Sunshine can't use, please make a donation of such cards to Bryan MacLean who can use them for Veterans. They can be put in the Veterans' box.
COMMUNICATIONS Jennifer Williams reminded members dealing with technology or answering emails from the Ladies, to give her a call for help.
OLD BUSINESS: Leading Knight Alan Harkness announced his pride and success with the Toy Box donated to The Leading Knight Stud Auction. After the donor and his family picked a few items that they wanted out of the box, it was donated to his wife's classroom where it is still giving pleasure. He and Norma will be serving Portuguese Bean Soup on Monday Nov. 24. They promise that it is delicious, so don't miss out.
NEW BUSINESS: Dates to remember; ER Jenny Buford is having knee replacement on Dec. 4th. She said to watch for a box to place toys for kids at Orangewood. Purple Pig Challenge ends January 31st. Help make it a successful event by bringing your donations before that date.

WAYS AND MEANS Dana Hollenbeck and Jana Merk were lauded for a really fun Oktoberfest. They told of their plans for the Winterwonderland Snowflake Gala on Saturday, December 6. Tickets will be $50.00 each with no tickets sold after December 1st. Volunteers were needed. Irene Romero won $15.50 in the 50/50 Drawing, which she donated to our Club. There were seven secret bag winners.

NEW BUSINESS: Play practice for the Halloween Dinner Theater continues every weekend. Those attending the dinner should appear in Halloween costumes. There are forty people taking part. Sheryn Howlett gave details about Wreaths Across America on December 13th. Members were encouraged to take part.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY Jean Chapman reported that she will be writing thank you notes to all the volunteers for the wonderful job that they did to make Western Night so successful.
MEMBERSHIP Michele Scaglione reported our total membership was eighty-five which included the three new members that were named last month. Twenty-eight members were in attendance.
WAYS AND MEANS Tracee McRane and Dana Hollenbeck thanked everyone who helped make Western Night a great success. They reported that 116 tickets were sold which totaled $3,480, Donations totaled $165.00, and Jail Fines and Raffles took in $1,105.00 for a Gross Profit of $4,750.00. At that time the Net Profit was $2,756.45. Recipients of the small gift drawings were Norma and Alan Harkness, Jana Merk, Arlene Snyder, Debi Steuer, Diane Cannon, Irene Romero, Cookie Akesson, and Lori Cincotta. Laura cleared up a question regarding whether or not band members, etc., pay for their drinks and dinners. They do pay, as do all volunteers, working during events.
HOSPITALITY Carol Gray thanked Norma Harknes and Cookie Akesson for the desserts. Pam Simpson and Diane Cannon are scheduled for August.
SUNSHINE Cheryl Isaac was absent. It was announced that Organist Andy Costello's wife Mary Ann had fallen. Tracee McRane said thank you for the lovely comfort basket that she has been enjoying. Birthdays were announced, dollars were collected, and serenading was done. Jenny Buford announced that Steve Cagnacci was out of surgery.

NEW BUSINESS: Tea Party Table Decorating Contest tickets are $25.00 each. Time of the event is Saturday September 6th from 12;00 until 4:00. There were five tables left. Members should keep in mind that the planning needs to be done in advance with the decorating/set up at noon of that day.

PRESIDENT Laura Lumley called the meeting to order at 6:42 p.m. SGT.-AT-ARMS Kelly Van Dyke led the Pledge. CHAPLAIN Victoria Stokes offered the Opening Prayer.
RECORDING SECRETARY Sandy Jacobs asked if there were corrections to the May minutes, which were posted on the website. Jennifer Williams moved to approve. Jean Chapman seconded. Minutes were approved.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY Jean Chapman said that $930 had been raised for the quilt raffle. She acknowledged the great selling that had been done by Debbi Woog, Sheryn Howlett and Stacey Christie in the first week of sales. She requested help from the Ladies to sell tickets.
MEMBERSHIP Michele Scaglione reported our total membership was eighty-five which included three new members. Thirty-six were in attendance. Becki Wanger's number was chosen for the $5.00 drawing. She was not present, so it will be $10.00 next month. Debby Steuer won $19.00 in the raffle drawing and donated $5.00 back to the Club.
WAYS AND MEANS Tracee McRane and Dana Hollenbeck told of their plans for Blue Jeans and Boots on July 12th. Time: 6-10:00. Menu entrees include steak and chicken breast. Tickets were available at $30.00 each. COMMUNICATIONS Jennifer Williams will send an inquiry asking members to express their opinions on a September 6th Tea Party. Recipients of the small gift drawings were Debi Steuer, Michele Scaglione, Barbara Coppola, Sheryn Howlett, Claudia Mohler, Sandy Jacobs, Jerlene Dinnage, Cheryl Isaac, Lori Cincotta and Jana Merk.
HOSPITALITY Carol Gray thanked Claudia Mohler and Sandy Jacobs for the desserts.
PARLIAMENTARIAN Barbara Coppola explained the Lifetime Member Award before bestowing the honor on 35 year member Judy Longi. Judy joined three others who had been so honored.
SUNSHINE Cheryl Isaac announced birthdays, dollars were collected, and they were serenaded.
COMMUNICATIONS Jennifer Williams reviewed the website for new members. She said that she is attempting to keep emails at a minimum.
OLD BUSINESS: Leading Knight Alan Harkness explained the Stud Auction as a fundraiser to help next year's ER with expenses. The Ladies' contribution of Toy Box items should be brought to the September 8th meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: Dinah Grosch asked for volunteers for the Father's Day BBQ. Everyone should have received an invitation to the AVP dinner on June 10th.
Laura's message was that every member should help by buying tickets and donating time for all of our events. She then thanked everyone for attending.

RECORDING SECRETARY Sandy Jacobs announced that Wells Fargo Bank required that we submit March's minutes naming the new officers who will be on the account and deleting the outgoing officers. This was to be done on Elks' Ladies letterhead paper. The March minutes had been amended and can be viewed on our website.
Our 52nd Installation of Officers was held in lieu of the regular monthly meeting No minutes.
AUDITOR (2024-2025) Jerlene Dinnage reported several small bank errors in three previous months. These were corrected and the Treasurer's reports were amended. The amended amounts for Jan., Feb and Mar. totaled $1.56.

New Member PER Kevin Lindley questioned when bills were paid. He mentioned that Shamrock, in particular, wanted payment for the food for our Installation. Jerlene assured him that Shamrock would be paid, as well as all bills presented and approved at that evening's Board meeting.
VICE PRESIDENT Cookie Akesson, in presenting the Calendar of Events, mentioned Youth Appreciation on Sunday, May 18th and the Memorial Day BBQ on May 26th. In June, there is the Inaugural Ball (7th),AVP Visitation (10th), Flag Day Ceremony (14th), Father's Day BBQ (15th), Parrot Head BBQ (21st), and Grand Lodge Convention (29th through July 4th).
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY Jean Chapman said that we had received a thank you note from Lisa Hart.. Jean had made and donated a red, white and blue quilt to be raffled on Labor Day. She requested help from the Ladies to sell tickets.
MEMBERSHIP Michele Scaglione reported our total membership was seventy-nine. Twenty-four were in attendance. Kevin Lindley 's number was chosen for the $5.00 drawing. $5.00 again next month. Victoria Stokes received $19.00 when her number was pulled.
WAYS AND MEANS Tracee McRane and Dana Hollenbeck told of their plans for Boots and Blue Jeans on July 12th. After discussion, Barbara Coppola moved that tickets would be $30.00. Jean Chapman seconded. Passed. They are thinking of “Lunch with the Ladies” as a possbility for October. They had their ususal small gifts that went to Laura, Carol, Stacey Jenny, Sheryn and Becki.
HOSPITALITY Carol Gray thanked Eileen Reinoehl and Michele Scaglione who brought desserts. Next month will be Claudia Mohler and Sandy Jacobs.
PARLIAMENTARIAN Barbara Coppola told the Committee members that it is important that they attend meetings. President Laura asked that anyone not able to attend a meeting please let her know ahead of time..
COMMUNICATIONS Communications Jennifer Williams announced that the quilt drawing will be held at 3:00 on the 4th of July.
OLD BUSINESS As a followup to a request made by PER Kevin Lindley last year, a very energetic Tracee McRane proposed that a committee be formed to cook one night a month. She would head it. A food handler's certificate is required.
NEW BUSINESS Cookie announced that PER Rick Moscoso plans to change the moulding on the Ladies Presidents Wall to enlarge the space. Leading Knight Alan Harkness challenged the Ladies to fill a large toy box with games, toys, etc.,.for families to enjoy together. It should have a value of at least $150.00. Several items were already suggested, including Jerlene's chain saw . Tracee McRane promised that she would make a big beautiful wreath. If members gave donations of cash, Laura and Cookie would go shopping to purchase whatever is needed. The auction will be part of the Leading Knight Stud Auction to be held on October 18th. ER Jenny Buford made a motion to accept the challenge. Kelly Van Dyke seconded. Motion passed with items to be turned in at our. September meeting.
ER Jenny Buford gave details about the students who will be honored at Youth Aprreciation. She also related plans for the Inaugural Ball. PER Kevin gave a “lighter side” moment before closing.
