The community of Monte Vista has always supported it’s band program through the years. To date, the Monte Vista High School Band has more State Championships than any other such organization in the state of Colorado. Dating back to 1980, the Monte Vista High School Marching Band has won 18 State Championships, with the most recent being in 2019. In addition to their state-champion marching band known as the PMB (Pirate Marching Band), Monte Vista High School also has a thriving concert band, and jazz band. Over the course of a year, students in these combined ensembles will take part in more than 300 hours of rehearsal beginning in July, and over 50 performances and parades across the state. A continued tradition of excellence is at the core of what it means to be a part of the Monte Vista High School Band. A truly dedicated group of students, parents, and staff make up the members of the Monte Vista High School Band family, and together we say,
