Gen-Next support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India provides Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) grant support (up to Rs. 10 lakh) for the aspiring entrepreneurs

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

• Applicants must be full-time UG/PG students with entrepreneurial pursuits or founders/co-founders of DPIIT-registered startups (≤ 2 years old). 

• Applicants must be from Tier II & III cities.

• Applicants must be working on innovations at the stage of Ideation, Concept Development, Validation / Problem-Solution Fit, Proof of Concept (PoC), or Prototyping/Working Prototype 

• EiR support will be extended only once under GENESIS.

• Candidates/startups working in the following sectors are eligible:

   ➢ Electronic design and manufacturing 

   ➢ Deeptech software and product 

   ➢ ICT space 

       using the technology: 

        ➢ AI / ML 

        ➢ IoT 

        ➢ VLSI / Semiconductor 

        ➢ Cybersecurity

        ➢ Blockchain 

        ➢ Quantum computing 

        ➢ AR / VR / Spatial and Immersive tech 

Funding and Financial Eligibility

• The applicants should not have already received significant private or government funding for the same idea.

• The applicants who have availed of government support under other schemes for the same concept may not be eligible.

• The applicants must demonstrate a clear and actionable plan for utilizing the EiR support (e.g., prototype development, market research, or customer validation).
