MUSUBI operates as a Japanese language school under the Japan America Society of Iowa (JASI), a nonprofit organization. All program fees are used to cover operating expenses and provide compensation to our instructors.
🌽 Academic Calendar and Class Schedule
Our program follows the Japanese academic year. We offer approximately 37–38 weeks of instruction per year. Classes that fall on holidays are canceled, with no make-up sessions provided. Please refer to our Holiday and Event Schedule for details.
Regular classes are not held from June through mid-August due to summer break. Special activities may be offered during this period and may require an additional fee.
🌽 Annual Membership Fee
$30 per family per year. This fee covers membership in the Japan America Society of Iowa (JASI).

Program fees may be paid in four installments per year. Payment in full for the year or in two installments (first half and second half of the year) is also accepted.

Monthly Fee: $80 (Annual Total: $760) + Annual Membership Fee
For students who need more support than a Japanese heritage language approach alone can provide, instruction is provided by a teacher specializing in Japanese as a Foreign Language (JFL).
Payments are due in April, September, November, and January. Families may also choose to pay in two installments: the first half of the year (Periods 1 and 2) and the second half of the year (Periods 3 and 4).
