Finding an accommodation

Lismore has been in a housing crisis for a long time and it is hard to find an accommodation. 

However, following some golden rules and providing adequate supporting documents in favor of them ensure the homeowner and the real estate that you would be a good tenant and be able to pay the rent in regular basis and increase the possibility to getting the property manifold.  

1. Register to the e-mail subscription lists to the local real estates.

The real estates will e-mail you regularly whenever there is any opening.

2. Inspection

When you apply for renting a home, it is always good to make a formal inspection on the scheduled date with the real estate agency (if you are unable to do it physically, request the property manager if you can do it online or request a friend). Collect the application form and submit your application. There are always option available to apply/submit application form through e-mail or submit online. During/after inspection carefully consider the distance of the property from your workplace, from your kid's school, from supermarkets, from hospitals, from public transports, if the property is on plain land or on a slop or on a hill, if there is any waterlogging during rain etc. It is also good to discuss about the positive and negative sides of the area or the property with any local.

3. Submit application accurately and in detail

When submitting an application, fill the form accurately and in detail as possible. Add a cover letter and state why you would like to rent the property.

4. Attach supporting documents 

Attach supporting documents with the application form. To get an idea which support documents you need to provide, please check the example application forms at the bottom of this page.

• Recommendation letter from last real estate (wherever you resided earlier) and/or proof of current last residential address

• Utility bill payment slips of last residence

• Current job statement

• Current income statement/ Bank statement of all family member 

• Current Car registration

• Photo identification-impression of passport, driving licence, notional identity card, other photo identity card

• Other supporting documents -reference letter from job stating that it would be convenient location to commute to the workplace. reference letter from school stating that your kid has schooling near the property.
