In the 1975-76 school year, Verda Savage established the "Newcomer's Revue," a small mixed show choir that featured singing and dancing. This group is regarded as the first "Music Warehouse," as the name changed in the next school year.
Over the next fifty years, the group evolved and grew, becoming one of the premier show choirs in the country. The group has traveled coast-to-coast, winning numerous Grand Championship honors, as well as an assortment of honors, including Best Vocal, Best Choreography, Best Back-Up Band, Best Crew, Best Soloist and more.
Today, Music Warehouse continues to compete at various show choir invitationals, as well as host the annual "Tis the Season" holiday concert and "Contest of Champions," Edgewood's own show choir competition.
2026 marks fifty years of musical excellence, and it's time for old friends to come home to Ellettsville, IN to celebrate the history and talent of Music Warehouse and the founder of the program, Verda Savage Slinkard.
A 50th anniversary celebration is planned for Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Edgewood High School. All alumni - performers, musicians, crew, etc. - as well as parents and the community are invited to celebrate the Beautiful City that has been built over the last half-century.
This site will be updated regularly with photos, videos and information about the 50th anniversary event. You can also join the Facebook group Edgewood High School Music Warehouse Alumni for contributions from others with ties to the program.
