Music Service Learning aims to better the future of music education and serve our communities and their unique needs with a philosophy focused on mutual-aid and community welfare.

Through both online and in-person interactions, we believe that everybody deserves connection. Music Service Learning embraces a collaborative philosophy by truly listening to the needs of others and then providing mutually-beneficial opportunities for community members and collegiate music students to create new initiatives, solve problems, and realize ideas. For teachers and other community members, this cooperative approach sparks creative ideas and eliminates barriers, leading to positive experiences for all stakeholders. For student volunteers, Music Service Learning provides authentic engagement opportunities beyond the scope of the traditional curriculum that results in a deeper understanding of the cares and concerns of people in communities outside of their own.
