Do You Think You Can Dance and Worship?

Do You Think You Can Dance and Worship?

Words and music: David Kai ©2023

Do you think you can dance and worship?

Or is it only worship if you sing?

Do you think you can dance and worship?

Is worship only when the church bells ring?

David danced the joy that filled his heart

Danced with all his might before the Ark

So dance your worship…   let’s dance our worship

So dance your worship…   let’s dance our worship

Do you think you can dance and worship?

Or is there only just one kind of praise?

Do you think you can dance and worship

Celebrate God every night and day?

Miriam led a dance after crossing the sea

Celebrating God’s great victory

So dance your worship…   let’s dance our worship

So dance your worship…   let’s dance our worship

Do you think you can dance and worship?

It’s hard to know - what would Jesus do?

Do you think you can dance and worship?

With a heart that’s just and kind and true

Jesus calls us in to the rhythm of life

So if he danced at that wedding, I wouldn’t be surprised.

So dance your worship…   let’s dance our worship

So dance your worship…   let’s dance our worship.

Recording Notes:

This song uses the Keela voice on the Emvoice program running on the Ableton digital audio workstation (DAW).

The breaks before the 2nd and 3rd chorus are reminiscent of a famous song by Yes which uses backwards piano and guitar harmonics.

The ending is reminiscent of a Beatles song which uses many grand pianos after an orchestral crescendo.
