In "traditional" courses, scores are averaged for a final grade. Prof. S thinks this is a clunky way to track progress.
In this course, we will not average scores. Earn points by completing tasks, until you have enough for A+.
Tasks are listed in the Quickstart Guide (not available yet if you're reading this in December). You don't need to do all tasks; choose a combination of tasks that adds up to 100 points total for an A+.
There are four mandatory tasks: WEEK 1 SURVEY and three CHECKPOINTS, at the end of each week.
Refer to the chart below to convert points into a letter for your final grade.
On Blackboard, click My Grades on the left sidebar
Look at the TOP NUMBER ONLY of the "Total" column.
Ignore the bottom number - it does not mean anything.
Top number = Total points you've earned.
Use the "Grade Conversion Chart" to convert your points to a letter grade.
Earn 100 points for an A+
You will NOT pass the course unless you complete all three checkpoints; failure to complete checkpoints will result in course failure.
