JAN 2025- PRESENT
I helped gather information from people in the community by conducting surveys related to food assistance (SNAP) and Community Health Work (CHW). These surveys focused on understanding the social factors that affect people’s health, such as housing, food access, income, and transportation. I used tools like REDCap (a secure system for collecting and managing survey data) and EPIC (an electronic medical record system) to organize and track the information we collected. This helped our team better understand community needs and connect people with resources.
I’m currently working on a systematic review focused on differences in access to mental health care across diverse groups in the U.S., such as by race, ethnicity, income, or geographic location. As part of this project, I help organize and review research studies using Covidence, a tool designed to streamline the process of screening, sorting, and analyzing large amounts of scientific literature. This helps our team identify patterns and gaps in mental health care access, which can inform future research or policy recommendations.
Collaborated in interdisciplinary meetings focused on the evaluation and improvement of community health initiatives.
Engaged in continued professional development by attending a Public Health Conference focused on advancing population health, addressing public health equity, interoperability, and data modernization.
