I immigrated to Tampa, Florida during 2019 from Pakistan. During my time in Florida, I received my Associate's degree in Biological Sciences from Hillsborough Community College. After finishing my Associate's degree, I moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be closer to my family. There, I transferred to Indiana University- Richard Fairbanks School of Public Health and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Health Services Management.
Before enrolling in Health Services Management, I was in-between Biochemistry and Health Services Management (HSM). Eventually, I went for HSM. My reasoning behind choosing HSM over Biochmistry was due to the fact that HSM brings so many opportunities from a wider scope of fields in healthcare, be it Administration, Public Health, long-term care, or Health Insurance.
Choosing HSM has been one of my best decisions, since I know I am not confined to one career, but there are many opportunities available for me to explore.
But, this is the beginning of a long, challenging, and exciting journey that I am excited and nervous to embark on, and I know I will need as many mentors, advisors, leaders, and peers to embark with me and guide me through this journey.
