The Legen of the Dragon

Centuries ago, there was a village beneath the mount Košuta. The villagers worked on their farms and in the mercury mine. There were also a lot of blacksmiths. A blacksmith named Jaka had a small, skinny cock. Jaka fed him and took care of him but no food helped him gain even a little weight. One afternoon when Jaka and the cock were sunbathing, a witch came by. She gave Jaka some magic food that would make his cock grow. And it worked! The bird grew and grew. One day the cock flew away to the top of the mount Košuta and it lay a big white egg there.

Soon a baby dragon hatched. It burrowed into the mountain and disappeared. There the dragon grew and grew, and it soon ran out of space, so the mountain split into two. This triggered a rumbling rock avalanche. The trees cracked under the rocks and the frightened animals started running away. The dragon ran away too. The people hid in their homes, but they were soon forced to leave their homes. They were running for their lives when all of a sudden a giant rock rolled down the hill and buried the giant monster. The rocks covered the houses and a and the thick blanket of fog laid on the village. The people kept running until they ran out of breath. They stopped at the bottom of the valley. They liked the place so they decided to stay. They built new houses and workshops up there. They named the little town Tržič.

Catalan ending 

The egg exploded in the middle of the night. Then, a big baby dragon came out of the egg.  The baby dragon grew and grew, and it became a big red gragon with green eyes.  The dragon was very happy and it took care and protected the village.

Lithuanian ending 

The big, stripy egg scared the cock, so it left the egg and flew away. High in the mountains it was very cold so the egg became cold. The egg was shivering and its colour became light blue. The next day Jaka climbed up the mountain and found the egg. He decided to take the freezing egg into his custody. The journey back home was pretty hard. The egg was shivering and several times it almost fell down and broke. Finally, after a long journey the blacksmith got back and snugged the egg into a blanket like a baby. The egg’s colour started changing according to the weather. One year has passed but the egg hasn’t hatched. He thought it would be a bird. One day the guy was holding the egg and accidentally dropped it down. The egg fell down, broke and a beautiful, vibrant, colourful dragon hatched. The man was terrified. He didn’t know what to do. He just froze. The dragon looked at him innocently because it didn’t understand what was going on and where it was. It was young and didn’t know how to control itself and accidentally it set a fire to Jaka’s house. The man didn’t manage to stop the fire and burnt to death. And the dragon? It lived a long and happy life.

Greek ending 

As the days went by, the white egg started to crack. The villagers were curious because they had never seen an egg as big as that before. After three weeks, the egg finally opened and a strange looking creature emerged. Villagers gathered up to see what was going on and there was a big dragon with red eyes. He was constantly growing but without attacking the residents, just sitting at the top of the mount. Kosuta.

One day people from a village close to the Kosuta village invaded and tried to steal valuable goods. As soon as the dragon saw that, he rushed down of the mountain to the village and immediately fighted back. Fearfull the invaders reatreated back to their camps, and from then he protects the village from mount Kosuta and when it is in need he is there to defend it.
