PROBLEM STATEMENT
Conventional manual assessment of deteriorating civil infrastructure is susceptible to inaccuracies and ineffectiveness, facing constraints like information loss and compromised documentation. On-site inspections are restricted by the skill level of inspectors, expenses, and safety risks. To tackle these issues, the integration of LiDAR and UAV technologies is proposed for the collection of comprehensive deterioration data. The process of digitization using point cloud models and qualitative/quantitative analyses presents fresh avenues for making informed choices regarding sustainable maintenance strategies.
MY CONTRIBUTION
3D Modeling | Point Cloud Registration | Photogrammetric Alignment | 3D Reconstruction
NED UNIVERSITY OHWT
AS PLANNED CONDITION
Since the Architectural and Structural drawings of the OHWT were not available we first did multiple reconnaissance surveys and after field data collection prepared the drawings of the OHWT, with the help of these drawings we were able to develop As-planned Model of OHWT
AS BUILT CONDITION
The as-built condition of the NED OHWT was acquired through 3D reconstruction from the Point cloud data acquired from the LiDAR and Drone Images.
SAMAMA BRIDGE
AS PLANNED CONDITION
The as-planned model of the Samama Bridge was modelled from the intricate bridge drawings provided to us by EA consultants through our supervisor.
AS BUILT CONDITION
The as-built model of the Samama Bridge was acquired through 3D reconstruction from the Point cloud data acquired on site stationing the LiDaR at different location so as to cover the whole bridge and photogrammetry data acquired from drone survey.
VITRTUAL REALITY
The as-built model of the Samama Bridge was then exported to vizard 7 the environment and light fixtures were added and the the final output was presented in VR projection system at NED Virtual Reality Centre
