This year we will implement a schoolwide PBIS system. The system will focus on restorative practices and promote positive behavior. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a framework for supporting scholar behavior. This system's approach gives school staff tools for teaching and promoting positive behavior in all scholars. It also outlines practices for preventing and responding to school and classroom discipline problems. Schools that implement the PBIS learning environment focus on team-based strategies and teaching approaches to ensure every scholar’s academic success. The purpose of PBIS is to create an environment that makes everyone feel welcomed, promotes unity, and maximizes learning.
Overall Goals:
Create a safe and positive school climate
Promote academic achievement
Decrease major discipline referrals
Increase instructional time
Integrate our school’s core values for success.
