On February 12th, Professor Min met with Director Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director Dao Van Tuyet, and other representatives from the HCM Institute of Resources Geography. The discussions focused on developing an eco-friendly seawater circulation and filtration system and exploring alternatives to antibiotics in aquaculture. The primary objective was to create a closed-loop system that could mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on marine ecosystems. The participants recognized the urgency of enhancing marine sustainability, reducing pollution, and increasing productivity to support fishers' livelihoods in both countries. The HCM Institute of Resources Geography, a division of the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), specializes in marine and geological research on climate change. Professor Min presented his insights on Developing an Environmentally Friendly Seawater Circulation and Filtration System and Improving Aquatic Ecosystems. Following the presentation, the institute resolved to develop a strategic plan at the VAST level and organize a government fact-finding mission to Korea for further collaboration. The meeting also laid the groundwork for a potential memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Korea and Vietnam concerning the development of an eco-friendly seawater circulation and filtration system.
