During my coursework in ECE 446 - Semiconductor Processing and ECE 407 - Digital VLSI Systems Design at the University of Arizona, I had the opportunity to visit a semiconductor clean room. This hands-on experience provided invaluable insights into the intricate processes of semiconductor fabrication, including wafer preparation, photolithography, doping, etching, and metallization. We were introduced to the cleanroom protocols and had the chance to observe and participate in the fabrication steps, gaining firsthand knowledge of how silicon-based devices are processed in a controlled environment.
