Frequently Asked Questions
Why were corner guards added to the archways? With the darker paint scheme and frequent damage to these areas, it's essential to have them.
Some of the corner guards are not flush with the surface? T he concrete surfaces of Marina City are not flat, making it impractical to achieve a fully flush install, especially in spaces like the archways, which vary significantly from floor-to-floor.
What happened to the ADA and emergency signage? These are being replaced with new signage and will be installed asap.
Why are there striped in the new carpeting? This is a byproduct of the manufacturing process and the uniquely challenging install process for our round corridors. It will become less noticeable over time and the installer brought in a 3rd party to perform and extra wicking and dying process to accelerate this transition.
Why is the corridor lighting on the 60th floor east different? Some of these needed to be replaced and custom fixtures that match what we have throughout the towers have been ordered. They are scheduled to arrive by August.
Why have the elevator vestibules on the 20th floors been updated? Maintenance challenges from the previous renovation made it necessary to build out these halls in the same way as the residential floors. The lighting is brighter than the residential floors.
Why were the door sweeps and other non-uniform elements not removed / replaced? Due to the complexity and costs involved with doing this across 80 floors, it was decided that this would be worked around as well as possible. Ideally, all of the door bell covers, bolt locks, and knobs would look the same but there have been too many one-off allowances that now would require more monies and resources than are currently at the associations disposal to remedy.
