Please help correct details & add pics! Where? In 02, 03, 07, 08, & 13?
That all have a spectacular time!
That everyone covers a comfortable amount of trail.
That everyone needs a chance to let go of the day to day work-a-day filters we impose on ourselves to get through work and life. We are here with you on that. This freedom is achieved by leaving work at work and children/family/lady-folk at home.
That we balance irreverence, pop culture, vulgarity, and the blunt, honest discussion of life. (Are you setting goals for next year?)
That swimmable/wade-able/lay-down-in-it-able water that has just a hint of warmth without the sun shining-too-hotly upon us, the wind being our backs, the coffee being strong, and the hops being just bitter enough: well, that is good.
That Tom brings home the bacon and Rick is in charge of chorizo. Everyone is encouraged to bring bacon!
That someone brings a first aid kit that remains unused, with the possible exception of that small amount of bloodletting that reminds you that you’re alive and on a mountain bike ride.
That meat (Or meat substitutes!) are plentiful.
That the spirits flow freely, but not freely enough to stifle the riding spirits in the morning.
That the word "rock" continues to be mispronounced on the trail.
That there is a blunt and honest discussion of existential issues impacting you and us all.
That other (outsider) campers respect that we "own" whatever campground we occupy, as we do.
That you do something funny or odd or clumsy and are OK with that.
That we all go home with something to brag about.
That we all come back next year with something to brag about. (What were those goals you talked about?)
Any life activity involves some risk and has side-effects: some known, some known unknowns, and some unknown unknowns. This weekend is no exception. Participation acknowledges personal acceptance of risks and side-effects.
