I'm available from 7:30 AM to 4:15 PM Monday through Friday. My prep period is 12:00-12:45, which is the best time to contact me! On the weekends, I might be a little slower responding, but I'll try my best to respond when I can!
If your child is absent from class, homework assignments are listed on our website under Homework. Also, I'll go over the assignments and any missed work with your child when they return to class. If you need further help, don't hesitate to contact me.
All grades are located on HAC! If your child forgets their username or password, email me and I'll send you their information! Also, in their take-home folders, their HAC information is listed. Grades are updated every Friday.
School starts at 7:50 AM and Dismissal is at 3:00 PM

In class, we created our Classroom Rules and Technology Rules that are listed on our Class AUP. We created the rules together so everyone understands and acknowledges the rules and expectations! The contract included was sent home with the students to return signed.
A class supply list was given out at the beginning of the year for all necessary supplies. Any other materials will be provided by Ms. Sophie. If students need anything special for an activity, assignment, or party, I will send out an announcement the night before!

Yes! We'd love for parents to come eat lunch with the students! Please sign in through the office and bring your ID. If you want to bring lunch with you, we ask that it's not in the student's lunchbox, rather you bring it in when you choose your day for lunch!
Yes, of course! I want to make their birthday as special as possible! Beforehand, please contact me to discuss any class allergies. Also, I ask that you contact me a week before their special day to plan on the snacks and any decorations! If you bring something, you must provide for every student in the class!
At the beginning of the school, I sent a form in your student's take-home folder regarding allergies. It's important that I know of any possible allergies to ensure your child is safe in my classroom! If you need another form or make updates, don't hesitate to ask!
Absolutely. I'm always available for a meeting, whether it's in person, through the phone, or on Zoom. My prep period is 12:00-12:45, which is the best time to contact me! I'm also available before school or after, but please email or contact me ahead of time so we can schedule it accordingly.
Yes! I will always accept Parent Involvement! Parents can be involved with holiday parties, school events, and PTA. If you'd like to volunteer for a day, please contact me and we'll find a day. Also, our school has a WATCH D.O.G.S. program that involves the fathers/father figures in your child's life coming to school for a day being a positive role model, and being involved with your child!
On our Class Website, I have links to Student Websites and Student Activities for all the core subjects. These websites have engaging activities, games, materials relating to our assignments, and practicing on what they've learned so far. Also, I have links to Parent Websites with information on how to be an involved parent in your child's education. If you have any more questions or want more materials, don't hesitate to ask!
Yes. Brookland Elementary School offers Cat Club. There's a school-year Cat Club and a summer Cat Club. For information to sign up, contact the directors: schoolyearcatclubdirector@bpsbearcats.com
For the school-year Cat Club, the form was sent out before the school year began. For the summer Cat Club, the form typically is sent out around March-April.
Yes! Information about our Field Trips will be located in our Newsletters.
Yes! I love celebrating with the students! For holidays, any information will be posted on our monthly Newsletters, Announcements, or sent in your child's take-home folder. Parent volunteer sheets will be posted and sent home as well. Snacks must be planned and approved before the party, and one for every student!
