Copyright is a set of rules that people have over the work they have created. It's important not to steal anybody's work and always make sure to give credit. Make sure your work is original. Be creative! If you're not sure if it is protected, look for a copyright symbol. Books, TV shows, online videos, and song lyrics are all examples of copyrighted materials.

Fair Use is allowing people to use copyrighted material with permission. Sometimes, all you have to do is ask for permission if you want to use something. Teachers and students have access to fair use to use materials in the classroom with given permission. Check if it's available for fair use before using it for yourself! Ask Ms. Sophie or an adult for help!
