During my student teaching experience, I engaged students in Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) through the use of Husky Bucks. As a part of the school’s PBIS initiative, students can earn Husky Bucks by demonstrating positive behaviors aligned with the L.E.A.D principles: Live Respectfully, Embrace Honesty, Act Responsibly, and Display Kindness. This system involves various staff members, including administrators, teachers, and support staff, recognizing students' positive actions. The recognition and rewards associated with Husky Bucks align with the principles of positive reinforcement, contributing to a conducive learning atmosphere for all students.
The check-In/Check-Out Method for students to self-evaluate themselves and track their behavior was incorporated during my student teaching experience.
