Indigenous Ways of Knowing

Hi parents! You can find various Indigenous ways of knowing resources here. In class, we were working on the medicine wheel and putting seasons in the wheel. I have also included a virtual tour of Niitsitapiisinni: Our Way of Life which is from the Glenbow Museum. I highly recommend you to go through the virtual tour!

Indigenous Peoples of Canada

This is a video we would play in our class. Students were learning the different groups: First Nations, Metis, and Inuit.

Medicine Wheel

Students have learned about the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Students can draw the four seasons in the medicine wheel. Students have made the medicine wheel before. Students can print this and then color each side and draw the seasons.

In the top one(white): Winter

Right one (yellow): Spring

Bottom one(red): Summer

Left one (black) : Fall
