This graphic organizer shows the two instructional strategies that I plan to use in my classroom. Both of these will be guides in how I interact with my students and allow them to also have a sense of independence.

This lesson aligns with my instructional strategy of facilitative teaching. I allowed the students to express their ideas without leading them to a correct answer. Even though there were some parts where I lectured I made sure my students were able to communicate with one another and come up with their own ideas to share. This lesson focused on Action Verbs and incorporated technology where the students were able to participate in a Kahoot to show what they had learned. To finish up this lesson the students had to write a paragraph about anything they wanted to but they needed to incorporate 3-5 action verbs to show me they knew how to use them correctly.
Adaptation of Lesson:
One way to adapt this lesson would be to take out the Kahoot game and replace it with a game where all the students yell out as many action verbs as they can. The students can sit in a circle and the teacher will start by tossing the ball to a specific student. Once that student comes up with an action verb they will then pass the ball to another student who will come up with another action verb that is different. If a student repeats an action verb or cannot come up with one then they are out. This lesson could also be adapted by having the students work together in partners to come up with a story that still includes 3-5 action verbs. Allowing them to work as partners will give them the opportunity to ask each other questions and put their ideas together. Lastly, technology could be removed altogether and the students could brainstorm different action verbs they have heard before and the teacher will write them up on the front board so they can look at them throughout the rest of the lesson.
