When it comes to communicating with the caregivers of my students I want to give them as many options as I can. I plan to communicate through email, newsletters, phone calls, texts, and in-person meetings.  This will allow me to reach those with access to computers but also reach those who may not have that type of access. The reason I will communicate with caregivers in this fashion is that it gives me a chance to really get to know the individuals in a deeper manner. It will allow me to talk to them about what is going on at school and share any good news that I have. These communication choices will also allow me to get to know the family on a deeper level as a whole. I will get to know the student outside of the classroom and build stronger connections with the student and their caregivers. One of my biggest philosophies is fostering positive relationships with students and this is one way that I can really work on that. By communicating with their caregivers I am showing them that I care about them and want to tell their families all about what is going on in the classroom and what they are doing well.
