My approach to creating a code of conduct is making sure that my students are as involved as they can be. The classroom is just not mine, it is theirs as well so I want them to know that I value their ideas and I want to hear them. Through the collaboration that goes on in the classroom, some of the items that I would hope we would come up with are having respect for others and our belongings, raise a hand when I want to speak, be responsible for your own learning, come to class prepared, always be ready to learn. These are just some items that I hope my students would come up with. My biggest hope is that by working together they feel a bigger sense of responsibility and take ownership in the classroom.
