Teacher Philosophy

My Personal Teacher Philosophy

I believe my role as an educator is not to simply teach for the next test. My role is to prepare students for their future and help them as they go through life in the present. Students need to learn to think critically and be active citizens. Knowing the what and why of anything is more important to me than regurgitating the who, when, and where. Students in my class will be made aware of the issues of the world and have the skills to form their own opinions and solutions for these issues. I've wanted to be an elementary school teacher since kindergarten. Thankfully, I'm sticking to my plan in hopes of becoming the best educator I can be.
