Interactive Activity

This activity will your reading knowledge to the test! I will list the instructions below step-by-step. This activity is to be done at home with your parent/guardian. You will be turning in your finished sheet to me any time before the year is over.

Step 1: Check out your favorite picture book from our classroom library and take it home.

Step 2: Read the book aloud to your parent/guardian. Be sure to read the sentences with the correct voice according to the punctuation!

Step 3: Once you have read the story, get a blank sheet of paper. Write down the following.

• Setting (Where did the story take place?)

• Character (Who was in the story? Were they humans, animals, fairies, etc.?)

• Happenings (What happened in the story?)

• Solution (What happened in the end?)

Step 4: Draw some pictures that represent the story!

Step 5: Bring your completed paper and picture book back to school and give them to me.
