Copyright law states that when someone writes something and publishes it, they are allowed to decide how much of it other people are allowed to use. This means that someone's work can only be copied if its copyright permits it. However, using a few quotes from a text or a short clip of a video falls under "Fair Use" and is acceptable for educational use.

Plagiarism is when someone copies someone else's work. Plagiarism can happen when someone copies every word from an online article, uses an older sibling's essay, or letting a parent complete a project when they were supposed to do it themselves. Plagiarism in my classroom will result in an automatic zero for the assignment.

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place on social media, messaging apps, or on other forums online. This can look like making memes of peers, sending hateful messages, or gossiping online about classmates. Our school has a zero tolerance policy for cyberbullying, so I encourage students to report cyberbullying to me or a trusted adult in the case they experience it.
