Our Mission
The Mount Sinai Morningside/West Ultrasound Division's mission is to cultivate a culture of excellence by providing comprehensive and innovative ultrasound education to all interested learners. Focusing on continuous improvement and staying at the forefront of ultrasound advancements, we aim to produce competent and proficient emergency physicians who are capable of leveraging POCUS to enhance patient outcomes, streamline diagnostic processes, and improve overall patient safety.
We provide a dynamic learning environment using multiple educational modalities and find opportunities for new and interesting ways to learn, from classic bedside teaching and flipped classroom learning to gamification and competitions. In addition to our regular rotations, residents attend our Regional Annual Ultrasound Symposium and present an Image of the Month highlighting interesting topics and pathology. They have the opportunity to attend Sonogames at SAEM, the Maimonides Nerve Block Camp, and compete for the yearly Golden Probe Award.
