Taking Educational Assistive Technology taught me many skills!

I was new to technology until I started the ES program at Sheridan College. 

After many practices (trial and errors!) and creating assignments using digital tools, I am very proud of myself that I'm navigating technology. 

1. Teaching our students how to be a good Digital Citizen including Digital Footprint and Cyberbullying  

   • • Digital citizenship is a guideline on how to navigate the digital world safely

     • Check your school board's Digital Citizenship policy   

2. Information on Creative Common License, Copyright and Fair Dealing (exemption from copyright protected articles for educational use) 

   •   Creative Common is an International organization to offer free, simple, and stardarized ways of copyright permissions for creative and academic works (Creative Common,  2025).

3. Makerspaces

   • • Makerspaces is a palce in some public libraries where you get to be creative by using a variety of tools including audio equipment, electronic instruments, circuit machines, sewing machines, iMacs, 3D printers, Button Makers, Heat Presses, Laser cutter, Vinyl Cutter/printer

     • Training is required to use some equipment
