Implementing accessibility features help students with exceptionalities
To demonstrate my understanding of creating accessibility contents I learned throughout this course, and my own research, I created my page as simple and visually and audibly appealing as possible by:
💡Using different multimedia
💡Short and simple explanations
💡Bullet and Numbered lists
💡Step by step instructions to navigate my page
💡Less clutter with images and clicks
💡Bigger size on font, font size (sans serif) and images
💡Alt text on images and captions
💡Styles of headings for organization and easier screen readers access
💡Provide closed captioning and transcript on YouTube and Podcasts
💡Use of high contrast background and colours to go with it
During my research, I have explored Google extensions and added new extensions on my Google Chrome to help me stay focused and reduce cognitive and physical strain.
My newly added Chrome extension
⚫Screen Shader - Shades Chrome to a soothing orange color to decrease eye-strain, eye fatigue
⚫SwiftRead - Train yourself to read at double
⚫Turn Off the Lights - It darkens the web page
I have created useful accessible information on the web and amalgamated into Google Docs for my references.
