If you are having trouble opening documents for assignments you can download this free program to your computer. Once installed it should enable you to open documents and read and write into them. You must attempt to work through the tutorial AND complete the mastery test prior to any scheduling of tutoring. Spending at least 25-30 minutes on a tutorial and taking the mastery test at least once, prior to tutoring, will be required.

Most assignments have 3 options to choose from; Visual, Auditory, and Hands on. You will choose just one of them and complete the questions or activity. You will submit completed worksheets through Edmentum. Please put your name and the course subject as well as assignment option you are choosing in the title.
If you are having trouble opening and typing into the doc or pdf versions of assignments you can download this free program to your computer which will enable you to open the "Doc" versions and type into them. The program is called LibreOffice and this is the link: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/

You must submit either 5 pages of handwritten notes or 10 pages of guided notes for core classes and 3 pages of handwritten notes for electives.
Studies show that writing notes by hand helps people remember information better than typing. There are many different styles of note taking so you will want something that works for you however, there are some basic guidelines that can help you organize your thoughts. Skim the unit overview and learning objectives. You can categorize using units and headings in your Edmentum platform. Write down major events, concepts, and basic information of the tutorial. Leave out unnecessary details and specifics unless you feel you need them to clarify points. One popular note taking method is called Cornell Notes. If you are more of a visual learner adding diagrams, drawings, maps, and other visual elements can help you engage with your notes more. Check out the videos below for more ideas and information on note taking.
Hand written notes should be clearly titled with the name of the class at the top. Notes should be readable. Excessive blank space will not be considered a full page of notes, but you should not crowd too much information either. There are many different styles of note-taking but it should be a method that works for you. If you are having trouble submitting handwritten notes through Edmentum, you can text or email them to me, however the preferred method is to have them submitted into the platform. There are some examples below of good notes done in different styles.
Balanced spacing will help your notes be organized and readable. Use of bullet points, highlighting, and headings can organize information.
Visual elements can create interest and help clarify concepts.
Sections and diagrams can be also be used.
For those that choose guided notes, they are located in the resources folder at the top left corner of your Edmentum platform when you are in a tutorial. You will download the PDF and type into the template. Please be careful that you are not leaving blank spaces or typing in nonsense words or inaccurate guesses into the framework. The guided notes should correspond with tutorials in Edmentum and you should be using them in conjunction with the information provided. Remember to save the PDF to your computer before submitting in Edmentum. Notes are part of your overall score and a zero or low score will negatively impact your course grade.
Guided notes can be found in the top right corner of your tutorials under resources. You can click to open a PDF which you can type into. It is important you save these documents to your computer when completing and before submitting in Edmentum.
