Hi everyone,

My name is Ted Brown, I come from Edinburgh in Scotland. I live in Taichung with my wife Helen and my two sons Alistair and Adam. I first came to Taiwan in 2001 and altogether I have taught English in Taiwan for over 6 years. When I am back home in Scotland I am a homeroom teacher in an elementary school, but I studied for my Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages to allow me to be a specialist English teacher when I am working and living in Taiwan.

大家好，我是從蘇格蘭愛丁堡來的Ted Brown，目前和我太太Helen和兩個兒子Alistair & Adam住在台中。我第一次來台灣的時候是在２００１的時候，至今已經在台灣斷斷續續的教了超過六年的英文。當我回到蘇格蘭的時候我是位小學的班級導師，而當時碩士讀的Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language，也就是與英語系國家以外的人溝通課程，讓我在台灣教學期間很有幫助。

My goal as an English teacher is to help students learn useful English for communication through enjoyable games and activities. I believe students of all ages learn best when they are motivated and having fun and I always aim to have a happy, interesting and relaxed environment in my classroom.

對我來說，英語教學必須使用大家喜愛的遊戲與活動，達成學生學習日常生活中可以使用英語的目標。我相信任何學習者（不分年齡）在對一件事情有興趣時學習得最快；我也喜歡好玩、有趣的環境，所以也希望來我課堂上課的人都深受同感。

Outside of school, my main interests are playing and watching football (soccer) and playing golf. Golf is the national sport of Scotland and my home is not far from the ‘Old Course’ in St. Andrews, one of the most famous golf courses in the world. My favorite football teams are Heart of Midlothian and Manchester United and I always try to go to a game when I am back in home. The rest of my spare time is spent chasing after my two boys, who are 7 and 3 years old and keep me very busy!

在空閒之餘，我的興趣是踢足球、看足球賽事、以及打高爾夫球。高爾夫是蘇格蘭的國家運動，而我家也離世界數一數二位於St. Andrews的高爾夫球場「Old Course」非常近。我最喜歡的足球隊為Heart of Midlothian和Manchester United，只要我有回蘇格蘭，我一定會撥時間來看一場球賽。剩下的時間也沒有閒著，幾乎都是跟著我兩位兒子跑來跑去，這也讓我變得非常忙碌。
