Hualien Conference Poster
Reflection
It was my pleasure to attend the Hualien conference under the guidance of Professor Chuang. This was my first time participating in an international conference with a poster presentation. Although I did not have the chance to deliver an oral presentation in English, I attended several sessions and learned a lot of knowledge from different fields. This experience also highlighted the importance of English proficiency because there were scholars from India and Vietnam at the conference. If I did not have a good command of English, it would have been difficult for me to communicate effectively with these scholars. Overall, I had a great experience and I'm grateful for this opportunity.
Listening Session 1
A smart turning tool
This article mainly focuses on researching how to increase precision in CNC machining. Precision can be affected by errors caused by forces or heat. This study develops an intelligent tool holder that can detect cutting forces during machining. The researchers used SolidWorks to design the intelligent tool holder and employed a direct sensing method to measure the cutting forces.
Listening Session 2
The influence of carbonization on the carbon fiber composite current collector of proton exchange membrane fuel cell
This report is presented by a student from National Ilan University. The main focus of this study is to investigate the effect of carbonization on the carbon fiber composite bipolar plates of proton exchange membrane fuel cells. The study concludes by successfully establishing a thermal error model with an error of no more than 3μm. They also used Pearson correlation coefficient to reduce the feature temperature points from 10 to 4, thus improving the accuracy of the model.
Listening Session 3
Design and impact of operating parameters on performance of ZINC-AIR fuel cell
The presenter is a Vietnamese exchange student from National Taipei University of Technology. Their presentation focuses on the parameter design and performance impact of ZINC-AIR fuel cells during operation. Fuel cells are electrochemical devices that directly convert chemical energy into electrical energy, and have been developed for 180 years. The presenter mentions the study of water absorption and compression strength of assembled bricks in their report.
