Session Description: While the experiences of women differed depending on their circumstances and loyalties, the Revolutionary War affected all of them. This session will use objects, documents, illustrations, and free museum resources to explore women’s diverse roles and experiences in the American Revolution. It will help teachers introduce their students to the various ways that women were not just affected by the Revolution but influenced the Revolution by maintaining their homes, businesses, and communities, following the army, engaging in politics, challenging perceptions, and even fighting in battle.
