My name is Amanda Hao-Rojas, I am the school counselor at Lila Bringhurst Elementary. You might have heard your kids refer to me as Ms. Amanda.
I've created this website as an easy way to provide all the resources that's helpful to all of the people I serve. They are primarily students, parents, and teachers. It is still a work in progress, but please spend time to click around and explore! You never know what you might find helpful.
If you have any questions or concerns about your student, or simply need a different perspective to what you're struggling with in regards to your student, please feel free to set up a time with me to talk.
Until then, see you around campus!

As a school counselor, I am here to support students with their overall school success. My goal is to make sure that students are able to adjust well to the school environment and succeed in their academic day. If parents are seeking professional help to support their child in their well being, I am able to meet parents 1 on 1 to support them in the following ways:
Parenting support on how to handle social-emotional concerns you have about your child
Possible intervention on parent-child communication to improve relationship
Discuss and support family difficulties or concerns that may affect your child’s academic routine/success
Brainstorm strategies on how to help your child achieve wellness in all aspects of life
Answer questions on how to navigate the public education system
Referrals for community resources
If parents deem that their student is still struggling, despite their ability to navigate their academic day with minimal problems, parents will be encouraged to pursue outside services for long-term support. School counselors do NOT provide long-term therapeutic support, but are obligated to make referrals for them.
