Check out this link for colors and shapes. Please make sure your child can name colors and shapes or points to named color. Also, play a game, I Spy something ________(color or shape on the blank line) Have the student name different items in the room which are red, etc.
Practice tracing and writing child's name. You can use dry erase cards sent home or on paper.
For a fun activity add sugar to a baking sheet and have them draw strokes and practice name in the sugar.
Take time to practice counting while eating snacks: how many cheese puffs? give them a small handful at a time with different amounts. And while looking at books ask them if they recognize letters from their name on a page in a book. Write letters from their name on pieces of paper and ask them to put their name in order.
