Or an Icy day!

It's a snow day, so I hope you are all home safe and warm. If you flip through the tabs above you find activities listed under themes and story pages.

If you have any trouble please call me and I will try to help you. I will add activities to the tabs listed above to help give your child some fun activities to look at while at home. I never delete any of the activities so feel free to browse through all of my previous activities as well.

Here is a useful tool to help get started on making PECs cards or picture schedule for your home. I was given this link by a parent who has been successfully using this site to create a means of communicating with her child. "First" and "Then board would be helpful. The then picture is usually a preferred task. Something your child likes special toy or food. Let me know if you need help with this idea.

Here is a great video on how to create and use a Visual Schedule at home. I can help you create one for your home if you have difficulties. Or if you need pictures I can create them for you.

Happy 2020 Thanksgiving

Though this isn't the year we had hoped for I am very Thankful I've been able to teach your child for the time we have had thus far. I pray that we come back to class very soon. Please enjoy the stories, songs, videos and activities I've shared to this Web site. I've created a few pages to help you find ideas to help keep your time at home filled fun activities. Please look to the top of the page to find the tabs which will help you navigate through this web site: weekly themes, music and movement, suggested books and class photos..

Activities for home: Practice colors, shapes, and counting objects to 10.

Homework assignment: March 22, 2020 : Practice tracing first name on provided laminated sheet. Or have child work in the notebook, we do journaling every day before class gets started. All of your kids know what we do with the journals, also have them place their things away when finished. I have a box on a shelf in the same place and each child has learned to clean up. My song is: Clean up, clean up everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up every body has to help. I think that's it, it comes to me easier when I'm working in my classroom.

Also work on colors, shapes, and counting objects to 10.

Shapes: Circle, Square, Triangle, and Star

Colors: Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow.

At play time or while looking at a book, play the "I See" game; such as "I See a red bug" to

add to my assignments sent home make a sentence strip. Help the child point to each word,

can be pictures with or instead of words. As your child points to each word/picture say the

word for them. Then ask them to point to the red bug. I'll try to upload an example, but

can't promise I'll get my techno skills to work for me :-).

Alternate the color red for other colors also include shapes and objects around the

house.

Resource for Parents: The video explains how to get started using the PECS Communication System. This is one of the language systems our classroom is currently using. In the upcoming months you will be able to learn of anther new system.
