I believe that Mr. Mike You’s class syllabus is effective because it is structured and it supports an accountable learning environment. 

The syllabus begins with clear learning objectives, emphasizing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. 

By explicitly stating what students will learn and why it matters, the syllabus helps students focus and understand the purpose behind their activities, which is essential for positive classroom management. 

The syllabus also includes well-defined expectations for behavior, homework, punctuality, and classroom responsibilities. For example, students are expected to manage their own homework, use digital tools responsibly, and follow Character Counts pillars like trustworthiness and respect.

 These clear expectations provide consistent guidelines that reduce confusion and off-task behavior.

 By outlining daily responsibilities and grading policies, the syllabus ensures students know what is expected and can plan accordingly, fostering accountability and minimizing disruptions.
