Self Registration

• For Potato Harvest students: If you have any questions or assignments to submit, email them here: Todd.Swim@nbed.nb.ca
• Remember only print the exercises that I ask you to. When printing an exercise be sure to include the header information. Most of the exercises will be marked by me during class time or from your home folders. So, it is also important to make sure you name the filename properly.
• When saving files be sure to use a descriptive file name for that particular activity, if one is not provided.
• Save your work frequently! You should make about 8 to 10 saves per class! Only save in your U drive or Google drive! They are the only safe places for your course work! Do not save on the local computer!

Do this your first time on the computer! Create a folder in your home drive called InfoTech120, this is where most of your files will be kept, unless otherwise stated. Value 5

• Introduction
• Login to the on-line course at the New Brunswick Virtual High School and go through the material and complete any of the activities for the Introduction module.
• Do the Plagiarism quiz from the Writing and Plagiarism page, show me the final score page so I can give you a mark for completing the activity. Value 5
• Follow the directions for setting up your Google Account. They should be in one of the Google docs lessons. Value 10

• Learn Google Docs on the G Suite Learning Center
• Go to the Google Docs lesson 1 page and complete 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
• Go to Google Docs lesson 2 page and complete.
• Go to the Google Apps Assignment and complete the 8 Assignments found there. (If time permits, do it at the end after the Final Project)

Module 1 - Advanced Word Processing and Design.

• Login to the on-line course at the New Brunswick Virtual High School and go through the material for plagiarizing and do the quiz. Show me your score when you complete the quiz. It will give you a score out of 10 and it counts. Value 10
• Do the Google Drive video tutorial and test found at the "Free Google Drive tutorial" in the link above. Show me your score when you complete the quiz. It will give you a score out of 8 and it counts. Value 8
• Do the Windows Basics and Computer basics video tutorial and tests found at their respective links above. Show me your score when you complete the quiz. They are both out of 10 and they will count towards your mark. The tutorials and quizzes are also found at the on-line course website on the Module 1: Saving and Backing Up Files page. Value 20
• Do the Quiz Self-Assess File Management and Protection. Show me your score when you complete the quiz Value 5.
• Do the Screen Capture of your Name in Word, including part of the tool bar, M1W001. Value 2.

• Do Self-Assessment Quiz on CRAP; show me your results on your screen when you've completed it.
