Mrs. Park's Second Grade Class
A Google Classroom is an online class where students can access content information from me.
We use Google Classroom for FIDs (Flexible Instruction Days) and frequently throughout the normal school day to access online learning content like Jeopardy review games, virtual libraries, math escape rooms, and much more. I also post class photos and encourage students to share approved photos with their peers if they wish. I will post holiday videos and any editions of Wake Up Dallas we do in our Google Classroom.
I post copies of almost all homework assignments and study guide here. Sooooo....this means your child can't come home and say they forgot their work. You can either print or copy the work on a blank sheet of paper. Gotcha!
*** The biggest mistake I see when trying to access a Google Classroom is that you must use your child's Google account info (not yours). That is their email that ends with dsdhs.com (yes, I know it doesn't end in google but it is a google account). Their password is usually some combination of their unique ID. I wrote their password on their take-home folders, and on a card in their Chromebook case. However, if you need this info again just reach out.
This means you have to log out of your adult account and enter their info into whatever browser you are using. If you cannot join a class, check this first.
1) Search Google in browser.
2) Click blue "sign-in" button in righthand corner OR click on your avatar account and sign-out, then continue on with instructions.
3) Enter your child's google info: (email that ends with dsdhs.com and password is unique combo of their ID).
4) Once logged in with students google credentials, click on 9 small dots (we call it the "waffle") in the righthand corner.
5) Select Google Classroom and find the class you are looking to access.
