Q: When is the best time to contact me?
A: From 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon, but you can text or email me anytime and I will try to get back with you as soon as possible.
Q: What is the best way to contact you.
A: My email is julie.borschna@smail.astate.edu or by phone or text at (555) 333-1234.
Q: What can I do to meaningfully support literacy in my home?
A: You could read with your child for at least 15 minutes everyday, ask them to review what we learned during literacy time, and/or have them read a book of their own or an activity outside of school.
Q: How do you measure academic progress?
A: In my classroom, I use the RTI method of learning. The students are screened at the beginning, middle, and end of the year to see what kind of progress they are making.
Q: How will I know what my child's grades are?
A: I will post grades on every Friday. So, grades will always be up to date.
Q: What are your thoughts about homework?
A: I think homework is beneficial because it refreshes their minds turning on things we did in class; however, they are still kids. Too much homework can burn them out very quickly, and it gives them less time to be a kid and spend time with friends and family. I will take all these things into consideration so they will not have very much homework.
Q: What can I do at home to reinforce behavior at school?
A: A good thing to do would be to implement a home AUP with your child. I have included a blank template you can use in the AUP folder. Students need to be familiar with good manners. It would also be good for students to know how to treat others with kindness and respect.
Q: Does the school offer an gifted program?
A: Yes, our school provides gifted learning for all grades levels called "Alpha". If we believe your child qualifies we will have them tested, then they will be taken out of regular class time for an hour for advanced learning.
