Class AUP: Students must respect all the copyrights and license to software, and may not upload, download, copy software or other material without prior authorization from myself
The definition of copyright is basically the right to copy. You must have the legal right given to you to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material that is protected by copyright. Copyright serves as a layer of protection over someone's work that they do not want to share. Breaking the law of copyright can lead to serious consequences.
Fair use is the permitted unlicensed of copyright protected works in certain circumstances. Examples are using it for comments, criticism, or another form of the work itself. Understanding the concept of using fair use for an acceptable purpose is a broad understanding. It has few limits and is up for interpretation, which is what it was meant for. This prevents areas where there could be consequences.
