S.T.E.A.M. Educator
S.T.E.A.M. Educator
Welcome! I’m a Middle School ART & S.T.E.A.M. teacher and a S.T.E.A.M. Teacher on Special Assignment, dedicated to helping every student discover the magic within themselves. I believe that all children carry unique gifts, sometimes hidden, sometimes waiting for the right moment or the right environment to shine. My role is to create those moments.
In my classroom, creativity and innovation come together through hands-on, project-based learning. Whether students are sculpting with clay, creating art, experimenting with 3D printers, coding, building, or exploring the intersections of art and science, I aim to design learning experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and resilience. I want students to see themselves as artists, engineers, problem-solvers, and leaders, because they are.
Beyond the classroom, I support educators in integrating S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and P.B.L. (project-based learning) into their teaching. I collaborate with teachers to build meaningful, equitable learning opportunities that honor student voice and empower them to think critically and creatively. I believe that when we uplift the brilliance of every child, we strengthen our schools, our communities, and our future.
Every day, I’m inspired by the students I serve, their stories, their cultures, their courage, and their creativity. Together, we’re not just learning; we’re building, imagining, and making the world a better place through innovation and art.
Why I Teach: Uncovering the Hidden Talents in Every Child
A look into my passion for teaching and the belief that every student has untapped potential waiting to be revealed.
My philosophy on technology in art education is centered on using digital tools to deepen creativity, enhance accessibility, and connect students to meaningful real-world content. In my classroom, technology supports students as they explore visual research, learn about history and culture, and express their ideas in both traditional and digital formats. Throughout my Resilience Through Art unit, I use technology to help students access historical stories, view primary-source images, and gather inspiration that guides their artmaking. I also integrate assistive tools to ensure that every student, regardless of reading level or learning needs, can fully participate and succeed. Overall, technology allows me to create an inclusive, engaging, and modern art environment where students can build 21st-century skills while creating meaningful, expressive work.
