PERTH AMBOY HIGH SCHOOL
( 2019-2020)
Mrs. DILIP
ROOM#319
Dear students & parents/ guardians
Welcome to ‘Chemistry( CP & Honors)’ course. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is ‘Anitha Dilip’ and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my class.
Chemistry is a study of matter and energy. It is everywhere around you – cleaning products, plastic bags, bottles, and even a comfortable seat cushion are all the examples of Chemistry. This class may be intensive and challenging, but I aim to make it easy for the students to understand and fun for them to learn.
Students will perform multiple inquiry-based laboratory activities to help them understand the materials. Discussion of the contemporary scientific issues will be part of our curriculum to engage the students in the outside world and to improve their critical thinking skills. We will have an exciting year as you develop into ‘ scientific thinkers ‘ and ‘ ‘problem solvers’.
In order to help all of my students to succeed in my class, I am asking my students to finish homework assignments on time, and I encourage them to ask questions in class and outside of class. I will be available before school, and after school to help upon request.
Students are most academically successful when parents are involved in their education. I would like to ask that you positively support your child in attendance and participation. Please encourage your child to be active and responsible in keeping up with his or her work. In the event of absence, your child is responsible for making up missed assignments.
However if you are to succeed in the course, we must all work together. Therefore the established expectations , rules and consequences will be enforced, As we work together , we will come of the experience better people.
Feel free to contact me with any concerns. You are also welcome to set up a meeting with me if you would like to talk to me about your child's performance in my class. I will be contacting you on a regular basis to give you progress of your child and our curriculum.
THANK YOU !!
