Welcome, Graduating Class of 2030 families!
I would like to be the first to welcome everyone back to school for what will be a fantastic year. I am thrilled to be back at High Point Academy, and I am looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year.
In Language Arts, I provide a culturally rich curriculum and strive to develop an interest in reading and writing in all of my students, which I hope will remain with them in the years to come.
By the end of the year, the skills and knowledge captured in English Language Arts will prepare students for life outside the classroom. These skills include critical thinking and the ability to read texts closely and attentively in a way that will help them understand and enjoy complex works of literature.
I am also teaching an elective this year titled Young Writers. The students in this class will write and publish a novel in the semester we share using the NaNoWriMo curriculum.
All students will be assessed on content knowledge, based on the state standards.
Grades are available to be viewed on Infinite Campus at any time. Parents and students have logins and access to Infinite Campus.
It is important to be in contact regularly. Report cards will be available on Infinite Campus at the end of each quarter. I hope to be in contact with each family regularly to discuss your students’ successes and challenges. If at any time you need to contact me, please email me at edelross@hpastaff.net. I will do my best to respond promptly.
HPA’s website (www.highpointacademy.net) will also have important information about the school.
Please share this with your students and discuss the information with them.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to working with you and our students throughout the school year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Emily DelRoss
