The work collected here spans curriculum design, applied research, and classroom innovation developed across nearly two decades of English language arts instruction. Each project reflects a core conviction: that meaningful learning experiences are intentionally designed, rigorously assessed, and responsive to the students in the room. The AI writing instruction study documented below represents my most recent research inquiry, examining what happens when we put emerging technology directly in conversation with student writers. The curriculum design samples that follow demonstrate the range of texts, methods, and learning goals I've worked with — from AP Literature to foundational literacy, from canonical texts to contemporary media.
These artifacts show the unique experiential learning opportunities that can be integrated into any classroom. These uniquely designed and curated works respond to all learners and require depth of analysis and understanding rather than rote memorization. The key for learners today is to engage them in elements of their own design and allow them to explore works creatively.
